REGENERAR Project Highlights Innovations in Drug Delivery and Gene Editing at TERMIS World Congress

Professor Lino Ferreira of UC presents innovations and goals of the REGENERAR project

Date: june 28

Professor Lino Ferreira made a significant impact at the 2024 TERMIS World Congress, held from June 25-28, 2024, at the Seattle Convention Center in Seattle, Washington, USA. The event, co-chaired by Dr. Nasim Annabi and Dr. Elizabeth Cosgriff-Hernandez, brought together over 1,000 experts and researchers from around the globe to discuss advancements in tissue engineering and regenerative medicine.

During the congress, Professor Ferreira chaired a prominent session titled “Biophysical Stimuli and Stimulus-Responsive Materials for Drug Delivery and Tissue Regeneration.” This session, which he co-led with Manuella Godoi and Leonardo Ricotti, featured five presentations exploring innovative approaches in the field.

In addition to his role as session chair, Professor Ferreira presented his research on a “Near Infrared Light-Activated Formulation for the Spatially Controlled Release of CRISPR-Cas9 Ribonucleoprotein for Brain Gene Editing.” His talk focused on cutting-edge techniques for targeted gene editing, offering new possibilities for treating neurological disorders.
