Professor Lino Ferreira and Susana Simões Shine at the 10th Iberian Meeting on Colloids and Interfaces
Advancements in Aging and Gene Editing Unveiled from Leading Experts at the University of Coimbra
Date: june 26
At the 10th Iberian Meeting on Colloids and Interfaces, held at the University of Coimbra, Portugal, from June 23-26, 2024, over 150 researchers and scientists gathered to explore the latest advancements in colloids and interfaces. The event, chaired by Dr. Artur Valente, showcased pioneering research in nanotechnology and biotechnology.
Professor Lino Ferreira from the REGENERAR project delivered an insightful talk titled “Therapies and Delivery Strategies to Regenerate or Reverse Aging.” His presentation focused on innovative methods to address ageing-related conditions through advanced therapies and delivery mechanisms.
In a complementary session, Susana Simões presented her research on “Near Infrared Light-Activated Formulation for the Spatially Controlled Release of CRISPR-Cas9 Ribonucleoprotein for Brain Gene Editing.” Her work introduces a novel approach to targeted gene editing in the brain, offering promising prospects for treating neurodegenerative diseases.
Both Ferreira and Simões acknowledged the critical support of the European Commission funding for the REGENERAR project, which has been instrumental in advancing their research.
